Whether graphic design, large-format print, packaging, motion graphics, video production, eLearning, or marketing coordination, illustration, or storyboards, I bring the same craft and attention to the work. I’m equally at home as a freelance partner on your next project or as a staff member embedded in your team. The title matters less to me than the work being good.
Design isn’t something I chose, it’s something I was born into. My grandfather was a sign painter. My father was a sign painter. I grew up surrounded by font books, hand-lettered layouts, and the quiet discipline of making type and image work together. One of my most prized possessions is a Letraset typeface catalog from 1984 that my dad gave me as a kid. I still own it. I started drawing before I could read. By high school I was painting backdrops, banners, and posters for school events, winning a national award for an airbrush illustration, and laying out the school newspaper in PageMaker, the program that would eventually become InDesign. That was 1995. I’ve been working in the Adobe creative applications ever since. Over the years that foundation has grown into a career spanning brand identity, large-format print and signage, packaging, motion graphics, video production, eLearning, and marketing coordination. I’ve operated as an in-house creative department, managed production workflows from concept through press, optimized print processes to cut costs and rework, and built 3D store renderings in Blender to help evaluate retail environments before a single sign went up. Whatever the medium, I bring the same attention to craft. I’ve collaborated with national brands, C-suite executives, marketing VPs, and carnival workers, and I’ve given every one of them the same level of care. I don’t need the biggest title or the biggest project. I need the work to be good. My grandfather would have called what I do “sign painting.” My father would have called it “graphics.” I call it what it’s always been: Art Communication, finding the right visual language for the message at hand, and making sure it lands. With over 9,000 designs behind me and a career that started before most people had heard of desktop publishing, I bring a depth of experience that’s hard to fake, and a genuine love for the work at every scale. |
